Match 16: Chennaiyin FC Vs Bengaluru FC

The two southern rivals Chennaiyin FC and Bengaluru FC will face-off in a key clash tonight at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim, Goa.

Chennaiyin FC will look to get back to winning ways while Bengaluru FC would want to secure its first victory of the campaign.

Chennaiyin has secured a 2-1 win over Jamshedpur FC in the opener, and settled for a point against Kerala Blasters, courtesy a spurned penalty.

BFC, on the other hand, has started with two draws and is struggling to build momentum. Question marks are being raised over the side’s offensive play, with the 2018-19 champion having recorded just 12 shots in its two games, with only three of them on target.

Review of southern Darby | ISL | BFC 1-0 CFC

What would I say, bengaluru holds the trend against chennaian FC. I thoroughly observed the match and I feel like two giants are fighting against each other with blunt swords. I mean both the team needs a lot of improvement in the striking force.

Felt for Anirudh Thapa as he got injured at the first place, rather ashique beat him out of the ground. Because of this incident chennaian attack force was badly affected and champion player like crivellaro was completely missing his presence.

Chennaian showed the formation of 4-2-3-1 but eventually they are playing 4-4-2. At start Isma was placed at the left which was ineffective for him , but as the match progressed he was brought back to right where he should play.

Two indian player changte from CFC and Suresh from BFC was beautiful to watch, specially Suresh ,this 20 year old lad played like a mid Field maestro today.

From BFC point of view , they show case their dead ball variations. But Demus - Partalu combination is yet to be activated.

Sylvester from CFC and Brown from BFC was completely off.

Hard luck to CFC as one sure penalty was not given. ISL should adopt VRS if the refs are so gross .

Good point is that sunil got a goal from penalty as well as he was the fastest sprinter in the match 37 kmph.

On this note what I badly feel, again I had to mention that striking needs to be refreshed.
BFC can project Sunil as their first striker . As per my opinion this actually can work.

Let’s hope for some great football ahead in this season. Let’s football.

Chennaiyin FC 0-1 Bengaluru FC

Chhetri penalty goal gives Bengaluru 1-0 win. It was Chhetri’s first goal of the season. Blues have taken their first 3 points, first victory of the campaign.

Both teams had multiple chances to score but both goalkeepers, Vishal Kaith and Gurpreet Singh Sandhu did better in the second half pulling off spectacular saves.

Not a dominating performance by BFC Boys… I think Blues needs to improve their attack.
