Joe Root’s century has put England in the driver’s seat.

Joe Root’s impressive 121 aided by three half-centuries from the top-order led England to 423/8 at Stumps on Day 2, with a lead of 345 runs. For India, Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowler with three scalps.
