KL Rahul stars with a century as India go to stumps at 276/3 on the opening day of the Lord’s Test.

India started off their second Test against England in the ongoing five-match series on a positive note by ending the first day on 276/3 in their first innings at Lord’s, London. The first Test was drawn.

After being sent out to bat first, India openers Rohit Sharma (83) and KL Rahul (127*) stitched a 126-run partnership. James Anderson (2/52) scalped two wickets in the middle to peg the visitors back a little bit but a 117-run third-wicket partnership between Rahul and skipper Virat Kohli (43) changed the fortunes in the final session. Ollie Robinson (1/47) dismissed Kohli towards the end of the day. Earlier, the start of play was delayed by 15 minutes because of some morning rain.
