Cristiano Ronaldo: “I think the fans should know the truth. I want the best for the club. This is why I come to #mufc, but you have some things inside [the club] that don’t help reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now…Nothing changed [since I left]. The pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym, even some technology. Even the chefs who I appreciate, lovely people. I thought I would see new technology, infrastructure. I saw things I saw when I was 20,21,23.”
Cristiano Ronaldo: “You have to destroy it to rebuild it and if they start with me, for me, it’s not a problem. I love #mufc, I love the fans, they’re always on my side. But if they want to do it different… they have to change many, many things.” [@PiersUncensored]

Ronaldo’s Exclusive Interview with Piers Morgan

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “Yes [he’s being forced out]. Not only the coach, but another two of three guys around. I felt betrayed.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “People should listen to the truth. Yes, I feel betrayed and I felt that some people didn’t want me here [at Utd], not just this year, but last year too.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo on Ten Hag: “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me. If you don’t have respect for me, I will never have any for you.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “I think the fans should know the truth. I want the best for the club. This is why I come to Manchester United. But you have some things inside that don’t help (us) reach the top level as City, Liverpool and even now Arsenal.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “I love Manchester United, I love the fans, they’re always on my side. But if they want to do it different… they have to change many, many things.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “He [Sir Alex Ferguson] knows better than anybody that the club is not on the path they deserve to be. He knows. Everyone knows. The people who don’t see that… it’s because they don’t want to see; they are blind.”

:studio_microphone:Cristiano Ronaldo: "A club with this dimension should be top of the tree in my opinion and they are not unfortunately.”

:studio_microphone: Ronaldo says his 3 month old daughter was hospitalised in July, that is why he could not return for pre-season and he felt hurt because senior executives at Manchester United doubted him.

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “As Picasso said, you have to destroy it to rebuild it and if they start with me, for me, it’s not a problem.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo on Wayne Rooney: “I don’t know why he criticizes me so much… probably because he’s finished his career and I’m still playing at the top level.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo claims he has been made the ‘black sheep’ who gets blamed for all of Man United’s failings.

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo says it will require changes for Man Utd to become title challengers again: “You have to destroy it to rebuild it and if they start with me, for me, it’s not a problem. I love Manchester United, I love the fans, they’re always on my side.”

:studio_microphone: Ronaldo: “A club of this size should be at the top, but This is not the case, there is no excuses."

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo laughs and says this about Wayne Rooney: “I’m not going to say that I’m looking better than him. Which is true.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “I followed my heart. He [Sir Alex Ferguson] said to me, ‘It’s impossible for you to go to Manchester City’, and I said, ‘OK, Boss’.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “Fans for me are everything. This is why I give this interview, because I think it’s the right time to speak my mind.”

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: They [the fans] are the most important things in football. You play for them. They are always on my side. I feel that every time when I go out, when I walk in the streets, the fans come up to me and they appreciate what I do for football."

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: " A big club like Manchester United bringing in a sporting director like Rangnick surprised not only me but all the world. This guy is not even a coach."

:studio_microphone: Cristiano Ronaldo: “Nothing changed [since I left]. The pool, the jacuzzi, even the gym, even some technology. Even the chefs who I appreciate, lovely people. I thought I would see new technology, infrastructure. I saw things I saw when I was 20,21,23.” [PiersUncensored]

Piers Morgan is known to stir controversies. Morgan brings out the worst side of people which otherwise people wouldn’t say out loud in public, I think.

Having said that, Ronaldo had lost credibility when he started hunting for clubs at the beginning of this season in his desperate attempt to play in the Champions League.

When he went out club hunting, his loyalty and enthusiasm playing for Man Utd was questionable even to neutral football fans like me.

In my opinion, Ronaldo had crossed the line in the match against Spurs when he refused to step onto the pitch as a substitute when instructed to against Tottenham. Later in a show of dissent he headed to the locker room and leave the stadium before the final whistle on United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford last month. A total disrespect to the manager, team and spirit of the game.

Ten Hag on the contrary downplayed this in the media. After a brief banishing him from the squad for the trip to Chelsea, Ten Hag offered Ronaldo a reprieve, inviting him back into the first team for the following fixture, handing him a start for the Europa League win over Sheriff Tiraspol. Moreover, he was also given the captain band at Aston Villa just over a week ago.

Ronaldo’s outbursts, actions and now this interview has tarnished his reputation instead while spewing out unwarranted criticism at the club, team members and its manager.

In my opinion, Ten Hag has taken up a tough job at Man Utd, trying to transform United’s fortunes and live up to the unparalleled legacy left behind by Sir Alex Ferguson. Frankly, the club has seen better results without Ronaldo and they don’t need a disgruntled player to hinder their chances of turning around to make it into the top 4, if not for the PL title this season. I think, Ten Hag is the only manager who can do this at this moment.

Manchester United will hold further internal discussions today over the Cristiano Ronaldo situation and a possible punishment for the player after talks also took place yesterday.

According to Fabrizio Romano in his exclusive Daily Briefing, there will be further talks taking place today, with a fine for Ronaldo looking like one possible course of action.

“Manchester United spoke internally on Monday and they will keep discussing on Tuesday about the solution of this story and the next step,” Romano explained.

“They’re checking all words said by Cristiano and will be clear on their position. People inside the club feel that it’s almost over between them and Ronaldo after this interview – it’s going to be very difficult to come back from this.

“A fine is a possibility considered internally, while discussions are still taking place.”

United fans will be bitterly disappointed with how Ronaldo is handling his situation, as it looks like it could seriously tarnish his reputation for good.
