Three goals in nine minutes give Villa all three points.
Douglas Luiz created more chances than any other player against Everton (5).
It’s the most chances he’s created in a single Premier League game and he got an assist.
2 - Leon Bailey is only the second Aston Villa player to come as a substitute, score, and then be substituted in a Premier League match, after Julian Joachim against Derby in September 2000.
3 - Lucas Digne has scored three Premier League own goals; no French player has ever put more through his own net in the competition’s history (level with Younes Kaboul).
1 - Matty Cash has scored his first ever Premier League goal, in what is his 33rd appearance in the division and from his 13th shot attempted.
WestHam have been largely solid at the start of the 2021/22 season, providing early signs that their exploits last term were not a fluke. While the Hammers have been held to two frustrating draws in as many games, they still remain one of five clubs who are yet to be beaten in the Premier League. Most recently, David Moyes & co. beat Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Europa League.
Manchester United, on the other hand, have gone some way in proving their credentials as Premier League title contenders, having won three of their first four games to sit atop the table at the start of Gameweek 5. However, the Red Devils come into the weekend clash against West Ham on the back of a disappointing performance that saw them getting beaten 2-1 by BSC Young Boys in the UEFA Champions League.
Michail Antonio is suspended following his red card against Southampton, with Jarrod Bowen likely to move to a central role in his stead.
Dean Henderson, Phil Jones, Scott McTominay and Alex Telles are all available again after returning to training, although Amad Diallo, Marcus Rashford and Edinson Cavani are definitely ruled out.
West Ham have won two of their last six Premier League games against Man Utd (D1 L3), though they are winless in three against the Red Devils. The Hammers had won just one of their previous 19 against them in the competition (D5 L13).
Manchester United have won their last two Premier League meetings with West Ham, last winning three in a row against the Hammers in September 2014.
West Ham are unbeaten in their last seven Premier League games (W4 D3), their longest run in the competition since a streak of 10 games between February and April 2016.
Manchester United are unbeaten in 28 Premier League away games, the longest ever run without defeat on the road in English league history. The Red Devils have conceded just 19 goals in this run, keeping 13 clean sheets in the process.
After losing consecutive games against Tottenham and Arsenal last season, Manchester United are unbeaten in their last 16 Premier League games on Sundays (W11 D5). In Premier League history, the Red Devils have the highest win rate in Sunday games (min. 10 games) - 55 per cent (163/297).
Since leaving Manchester United in 2014, West Ham boss David Moyes has failed to win any of his seven games against the Red Devils in all competitions (D2 L5).
Tottenham made a perfect start to the new season, winning three in three in the league, but injuries hit Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad hard post the international break, leading to a shock 3-0 loss to Crystal Palace last weekend. That was followed by a 2-2 draw against Rennes in the UEFA Europa Conference League in midweek, leaving the Lilywhites under pressure to turn things around, even if it is early days in the season.
Chelsea, meanwhile, are off to a fine start to the new campaign. With ten games in four points, Thomas Tuchel’s men entered the matchday as joint table-toppers, although Liverpool have since moved to the top after a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace. The Blues defeated Aston Villa 3-0 last time in the league, which was followed by a hard-earned 1-0 victory over Zenit St Petersburg in the Champions League. They will be hoping to extend that run on Sunday.
Tottenham is set to be without Son Heung-min and Eric Dier due to injury, while Japhet Tanganga is serving his one-match suspension after he was sent off at Palace last weekend.
Nuno was then dealt a further blow as Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn suffered injuries during the 2-2 draw against Stade Rennes on Thursday, with both players set to be ruled out of the meeting with Chelsea today. Bryan Gil could come in for his first Premier League start.
Chelsea manager Tuchel could have N’Golo Kante available if the Frenchman recovers from an ankle injury suffered against Liverpool before the international break.
The form of Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho could see Tuchel be patient with Kante’s return, however, while Christian Pulisic remains sidelined with an ankle injury picked up on international duty with the USA.
