  1. Failed summer transfer window

For months before the conclusion of the 2023/24 season every Madridista knew Toni Kroos and Nacho will leave.

Joselu’s departure was a bit of uncertainty.

These were 3 key figures in every department who left before the summer transfer window opened but Perez didn’t replace them efficiently

Kroos was the spine of the midfield and Nacho’s versatility at the back was very key for Madrid but both were not replaced.

Joselu’s presence in the box offered so much to the team

No defensive arrivals, no midfield signings just Mbappé and 17 year old Endrick in attack

  1. The balance of the team

I hate to admit it but Laporta was right, Mbappe’s arrival has unbalanced the team’s attack.

He doesn’t make the runs as a 9
He doesn’t press as much
He has no box presence
He holds the ball too often
He losses possession a lot
Has no confidence
Has no aerial ability

Rodrygo who provides so much support and balance to the midfield is now on the bench

In an attempt to replace Kroos, we should have signed at least 2 players but stubborn Perez tried to experiment again.
