Arsenal kick off a huge Premier League weekend looking to reclaim top spot.

A loss to Manchester City in the week has seen the champions retake the lead atop the table, although the Gunners could move ahead of them with a win at Aston Villa.

They will meet former manager Unai Emery at Villa Park during Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off before a busy 3pm schedule.

City travel to Nottingham Forest knowing whether or not their title rivals have dropped points, while Chelsea host Southampton with Graham Potter under pressure. Crystal Palace and Brentford will contest a London derby of sorts and Fulham play high-flying Brighton.

A huge clash between Newcastle and Liverpool rounds off an action-packed Saturday.

On Sunday, in-form Manchester United will meet a free-scoring Leicester team at Old Trafford in what looks a fascinating game.

Finally, the weekend action wraps up with a fierce London derby at Tottenham, with West Ham heading to north London for the 4:30pm kick-off

Liverpool supporters will be delighted to hear that Virgil van Dijk is in contention to start against Newcastle in the Premier League this weekend.

The Dutch defender is one of the side’s most important players and the news of his imminent return will be music to Liverpool supporter’s ears.

Van Dijk has been out for over six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury in the 3-1 defeat to Brentford at the start of last month. His absence has felt along with the other long list of players who have been on and off the physio table throughout the season.

Speaking ahead of the game, Klopp revealed that he ‘looks absolutely ready’.

Arsenal have been dealt a major blow ahead of their fixture against Aston Villa on Saturday.

Thomas Partey missed Arsenal’s crucial game against Manchester City on Wednesday night in the Premier League and it showed just how vital he is to their performances.

Arsenal lost the game 3-1, dealing a huge blow to their title chances.

Manchester City now find themselves at the top of the Premier League, but Arsenal do have a game in hand. The Gunners face Aston Villa in a lunchtime kick-off, which gives them an excellent chance of regaining their position at the top of the table, for a few hours at least.

However, according to journalist Chris Wheatley, Partey will miss their game against Aston Villa.
