Preview: Burnley vs. Wolverhampton Wanderers

Burnley plays host to Wolverhampton on Monday evening looking to extend their unbeaten record in the Premier League to four matches.

Meanwhile, Wolves make the trip to Turf Moor on the back of a 2-1 victory over Chelsea, a result which ended a run of two straight defeats.

Nine of Burnley 10 points this season have been collected from their last half a dozen fixtures, the only defeat coming at the hands of Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Since that 5-0 drubbing, Burnley have conceded just once during a triple-header with Everton, Arsenal and Aston Villa, a run which has seen them earn five points.

While Dyche has called for more goals from his Burnley attack, they head into their next fixture having not conceded in five halves of football at the other end.

As far as Wolves are concerned, their 2-1 comeback triumph over Chelsea has eased the pressure on a side which has been lacking a cutting edge in the final third.

Wolverhampton head coach, Nuno Espirato will feel that there is far more to come from a group of players which are in transition, and the club’s head coach will be desperate for another maximum haul with Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United to come before the end of the year.

Preview: Chelsea vs. West Ham United

Chelsea will be looking to return to winning ways when they welcome London rivals Westham to Stamford Bridge on Monday Night.

The Blues have slipped down the table following back-to-back defeats, while the Hammers have lost only one of their last six and are one point behind their opponents.

Given the tight nature of the division, Chelsea entered matchday 14 down in seventh place, six points off reigning champions and current pacesetters Liverpool.

Chelsea therefore cannot afford to lose a third straight league match for the first time since 2015, especially with games against Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester City up next.

Lampard’s men have drawn two of their last four home league matches, and four of the last seven in all competitions, which is something West Ham will be looking to capitalise on.

The Hammers on the other hand, have won back-to-back away top-flight games, against Sheffield United and Leeds, which is as many as they managed in their previous 14 on the road.

David Moyes side may have been held to a 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace in midweek, but 13 points from the last 18 on offer is a good return ahead of the festive programme.
