Manchester City vs Arsenal

Manchester City City haven’t had the best of starts to their Premier League campaign, losing the opening game to Tottenham. That was also their second competitive game, having lost the Community Shield contest to Leicester City. However, the champions found their rhythm against Norwich City, thrashing the Canaries 5-0.
Arsenal have had the worst start to a Premier League season as far as fans can remember. The loss to Brentford and Chelsea has added pressure on Arteta and the squad to get points on board. The Gunners also failed to score in either of their opening games, with fans asking more questions about the club’s ambitions.
However, Arteta’s side got a breather when they thrashed West Brom by six goals in the Carabao Cup during midweek. The Gunners played a fluid style of football not common during Arteta’s reign at the club, and fans will be hoping to see more of the same against Man City.

Arsenal were without a host of first-team players for the defeat by Chelsea but should be back closer to full-strength this weekend.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could make his first league start of the season after his hat-trick at the Hawthorns in midweek, while Martin Odegaard is also available after making his first appearance since signing on a permanent transfer from Real Madrid in the same game.
Man City remain without Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden, while John Stones is still working his way back to full fitness.

Liverpool vs Chelsea

Liverpool, after a difficult season last time out, have made a perfect start to the new campaign, winning against Norwich City and Burnley, scoring five unanswered goals across the two games. And, manager Jurgen Klopp will be looking to carry forward that momentum against one of their main rivals in the race for the title, hoping to go into the international break on a high.
Chelsea have also enjoyed a terrific start to the 2021/22 term, having won the UEFA Super Cup before seeing off challenges from Crystal Palace and Arsenal in their opening two Premier League contests. Much like Liverpool, they too have scored five times in the two matches without letting in any. And Thomas Tuchel will be aiming to lead his team to another win to further announce their title credentials.
The corresponding fixture last season, played in March earlier this year, ended in a 1-0 win for Chelsea, courtesy of a first-half strike from Mason Mount.

After losing just one of his first 13 managerial meetings with Chelsea’s Thomas Tuchel in all competitions (W9 D3), Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp has lost his last two against his compatriot. Only against three managers has Klopp ever lost 3+ consecutive meetings in his managerial career - Felix Magath (twice, in 2006 and 2010), Thomas Doll (2006) and Thomas Schaaf (2007).
