I’m heading to Argentina soon and planning a cycling adventure while I’m there. I’ve heard Patagonia has some incredible routes, but I’m a bit torn about the best areas to explore and how to prep for the terrain. Have any of you cycled in Argentina before? What’s the best way to approach the long distances? Should I rent a bike there or bring my own? Any recommendations on must-visit spots or gear I shouldn’t forget? Also, I’m thinking about trying a bike tour, do you know of any reliable companies?
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and any advice you can throw my way!
Patagonia is stunning, and you can’t go wrong with its scenic routes. If you’re looking for specific areas, the Carretera Austral is a must for breathtaking views. As for prep, make sure you have a solid plan for hydration and snacks since distances can be long. Renting a bike might be easier, especially if you’re not sure about the terrain, but if you have a reliable one, bringing your own can be worth it. Don’t forget a good pair of padded shorts and layers for the unpredictable weather.
