The Iniesta Xavi partnership for Spain and Barcelona was legendary. Xavi and iniesta are still under rated, Despite being two of the highest rated players in history.

They were the main creative forces in so much. Two euros, A World Cup, A few Champions leagues, multiple la ligas and so much more.

Before winning their first World Cup in 2011, Spain won the Euro 2008 and entered the competition with high confidence. The 23 man team was compiled with players mainly from Spanish super clubs, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. A total of 14 yellow cards was given in the final between Spain and Netherlands and it was Andres Iniesta who made the difference during the extra time. That pass from Cesc Fabregas to Iniesta was magical and Iniesta’s celebration after he scored the goal made him a bigger hero in Spain and Catalan as well.

He unveiled a shirt in which he had written ‘Dani Jarque, always with us’. Jarque , who was RCD Espanyol’s captain , had passed away in August 2009. Despite the fierce rivalry between Barca and Espanyol, Iniesta was given a standing ovation in the derby and is still the player who is respected by the RCD fans.
