Footballers’ career and personal life has always been under the spotlight, making it practically impossible for them to hide anything particularly if it involves sexual misconduct.
It is difficult to imagine a footballer, with all the women that are craving for them, being involved in forcible sex.
From Adam Johnson to Benjamin Mendy and Gylfi Sigurdson, the latest culprit being Manchester United teenager Mason Greenwood… should he be found guilty, what should Manchester United do to Greenwood? Is this the end of his career?
Manchester United star Mason Greenwood’s girlfriend has shared horrific photographs and videos of injuries she claims the footballer inflicted on her.
Harriet Robson posted a series of gory images on Instagram showing cuts and bruises she said the England striker, 20, caused.
One showed the WAG with a huge gash on her top lip and blood streaming down her face and chin.
Others featured massive purple marks across her arms, legs and hip as well as a shot of her with tears in her eyes.
The model also shared a voice note of her arguing with a man last year where the person threatened to attack her.
Manchester United said it was aware of the allegations but would not comment until ‘the facts have been established’, while police said they are looking into it.
Greenwood and Harriet are from Wisbey, near Bradford and have known each other since their school days at Ashton on Mersey School in Greater Manchester
United have issued a statement after allegations emerged against Greenwood.
The club claims to be aware of “images and allegations circulating on social media” regarding the 20-year-old forward, who has a lot of answering to do.
A spokesperson for United said they “did not condone violence of any kind” but would not make further comment “until the facts have been established”.
The club’s statement read (via MEN): “We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media.
“We will not many any further comment until the facts have been established. Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”
Mason Greenwood is being investigated by Man United after his girlfriend has posted photos that suggests he’s been physically abusing her. She’s posted it on her Instagram story.
She also posted a voice note that shows him trying to force her to do things that she didn’t want to do.
Manchester United have suspended Mason Greenwood after Greater Manchester Police said they are investigating allegations made by a woman against the footballer.
After being arrested for suspected rape and Grievous Bodily Harm, Mason Greenwood spent Sunday evening in police custody, and a number of his Manchester United teammates have unfollowed him on social media.
Whilst this will come as little concern for Greenwood and those who have been impacted by the behaviours that he has been accused of, it does display the immediate reaction of those who used to play alongside him.
Cristiano Ronaldo was the first to unfollow Greenwood on social media following the events, whilst Jesse Lingard, David de Gea, Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani and Scott McTominay all followed suit on Instagram.
Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood no longer features in any of the offline modes within FIFA 22, with EA Sports removing the 20-year-old from the popular football simulation game.
