June 25th- The Day Engraved In Indian History

June 25th- The day that is marked in history by all Indian cricketing fans. It was June 25th 1932 when India’s journey started as a cricketing nation worldwide. CK Nayudu’s men faced the MCC under Douglas Jardine at Lord’s and played their first ever test match. India eventually lost the match by 158 runs but the courage and grit shown at Lord’s on the opening day of the Test clearly conveyed the message to the world that Indians will soon be ruling the sport.
June 25th 1983- Coincidently on the same day after 5 decades Kapil Dev led Indian team created history by defeating the invincible West Indies team by defending a small total at Lord’s and lifted India’s first World Cup trophy.
While both the start of our journey and first World Cup glory was tasted at Lord’s will Virat Kohli-led side be able to do the same this July 14 at the same venue? Only time will tell…

The day that changed India

1983 gave Indian cricket confidence and belief. 1983 and Indian subsequent dominance and performance in 1985 Benson & Hedges World Championship established India as force to reckon with.
