Chennaiyin FC Head Coach Csaba Laszlo After the Match
"I just watched the statistics and we had more ball possession and seven shots on target but we didnât score. But I think I should be happy with my teamâs performance and they were playing after two days against a great team. Must compliment ATKMB as well as it was a good football game and fans must have enjoyed. We could have finished the year with a victory but if the goalkeeper from the opposition gets the best player it tells the story. But tactically, it was a great game from my team and they understood what I wanted. It was more European tactically than Indian.
"Sometimes you see two teams playing like this, you can be satisfied with the football. The way one keeps the ball, how one has to move with the partner, all of that was important today. I must be fair, a draw was more or less a real result.
âOur training centre is not very modern but I am putting a lot of lines. If the ball is in the oppositionâs half, how we have to move in the defence. I make the pitch very tight. Even if we lose the ball, we played two systems today, we played 4-2-4 and then 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 and I told Sylvestr to not waste too much time. I told in the second half that if we leave ATKMB to come and we have to manage the game to our strengths. The shoot from Chhangte was really what we did in training. You have to cover many spaces, and young Indian players understand how important it is. I tell them âdonât shoot out, pass and waitâ. That was more or less our tactic and nearly led us to victory but we got just a point.â
ATK Mohun Bagan Head Coach Antonio Habas After the Match
"Happy with the point but our performance is not good and the best chance was to draw the match. I am not happy with the performance today.
"I think Chennaiyin had a good match and we had a few chances. I am happy with the effort of my team today but not with the performance. I understand it is not possible to play good all the time but we need to do better.
âWhen you canât win, itâs better not to lose, itâs clear. Sometimes teams play fantastic but donât win. And this was the match today.â
In the final league game of 2020, Hyderabad FC will lock horns with FC Goa tonight. Both teams are in the bottom half of the table and will be hoping for a top 4 spot as the year ends.
FC Goa have won and lost two each of their last four matches. Juan Ferrandoâs men occupy the sixth position with a tally of 11 points from eight matches. The Gaurs enter the match on the back of a hard fought 2-1 win over Jamshedpur FC in their most recent fixture.
Hyderabad FC remained unbeaten in the first five games. However, they come into this match on the back of successive losses against Mumbai City FC and Kerala Blasters FC. Manolo Marquezâs side have currently slipped to the 8th spot on the ISL standings, with 9 points from 7 matches.
The brand of football that the hyderabad team is playing is really very impressive.
Although GOA is the favourite of the match. But the high pressing from hyderabad is disallowing Goan mid field to construct any attack. Halicharan is impressive along with souvik.
Edu bedia is playing a pivotal roll. Brendon is a bit off colour. Actually if Brendon is kept in the middle and Ortiz mendoza operates from the left that may create more attacking moves for GOA.
Beautiful tactical battle, high pressing to counter attack everything was there in the first 45 min.
I donât feel that goals will readily come. It may come after 75 min unless any sparkling moment got created within 50 min.
A goal from Ishan Pandita on the 87th minute and a late strike from Igor Angulo on the 91st-minute hand FC Goa a 2-1 win against Hyderabad FC at the Tilak Stadium in Goa. The Nizams took the lead courtesy their top scorer Aridane Santana on the 58th minute with a towering header past Donachie from an Ashish Rai cross.
Hyderabad looked like they had control of the game but two quick goals from the Guars never gave them a chance to recover. With this win, FCG rise to the third spot on the points table while HFC hold on to their 8th spot.
Igor Angulo, âImportant to finish the year this way with a win. We are in the top four now. We had to suffer to get there. Happy at the end of I hope itâs a better year for everybody. Its important to be in the top four for us.â
Hyderabad FC seriously didnât deserve this. They really played well. Akash and sana this two indian defender played really well.
Then what goes wrong for them? Again two changes. Withdrawal of Chakraborty and Hali. Really thatâs created a vacuum and Goan attack exploited that and capitalised.
The changes that FC Goa manager made, was effective on the contrary. Pandita was super sub with a first touch goal.
Really felling bad for the Hyderabad team. This team is playing a very nice brand of football most importantly with young Indian players. Very nice game.
What a perfect way to end 2020 - a Hero ISL thriller!
For the second match in a row, FC Goa waited till injury time to secure all three points; this time beating Hyderabad FC 2-1 at the Tilak Maidan Stadium. While the first half saw most of its action in the middle of the park, the second half picked up steam with Aridane Santana netting the opening goal of HFCFCG. Super-sub Ishan Pandita entered the action and within 10 seconds restored parity in the 87th minute and then Igor Angulo applied the finishing touch for the Gaurs once again.
