The weekend action in the ISL will pit Bengaluru FC against Odisha FC in the second match of the double header Sunday.

The clash between the two sides in the lower half of the standings takes place at the Fatorda Stadium in Margao.

The former ISL champions Bengaluru FC are going through a rough patch in their ISL campaign. They have failed to win a single match of their last six, losing five and drawing one.

Sunil Chhetri and co. will be determined to get their season back on track and rise higher on the ISL standings. The Blues have fallen down to the seventh position with 13 points from twelve matches.

Odisha are the current lowest-placed team on the ISL points table with a tally of seven points from 12 matches.

They have only won once in the season which was the victory over Kerala Blasters earlier this month.

Head coach Stuart Baxter’s men have shown glimpses of resilience in the recent matches and have two draws and a win in their previous four matches.

Bengaluru FC Goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu Ahead of the Match

“Sometimes things don’t work out the way we want. Last time we had 11 clean sheets, this time we have only two. Football can be cruel but we have to take responsibility, I have to do that. We have the same mindset and we want to score more. We go out there trying to score, you open up at the back, that’s what has happened this year I feel.”

Bengaluru FC Interim Head Coach Naushad Moosa After the Game

"It was simple, try to play attacking football and keep the ball. I think the first goal got to the players and they were down but in the second half, they went for it completely.

"Now, the only thing is to try and work with our juniors, give them opportunities and prepare them for the future.

"For today’s game, it was very important to get those three points. It was a crazy game. When we talk about philosophy, if you see the reserve team play, we want to play possession-based football. It will take some time for that to get to the first team.

“We still don’t want to give up, seven games in hand. Hyderabad, Jamshedpur was a draw too. Except for Mumbai and ATK, all other teams are close. Winning the game today would have been great but we have to keep fighting. But we have to try and give more time to the youngsters.”
