Hi! I visited Egypt last year and felt quite safe. However, it’s important to stay updated on travel advisories. Currently, there’s a Level 3 Travel Advisory suggesting increased caution is advised Egypt Travel Advisory Always check the latest updates before your trip and follow local guidelines. As long as you’re not roaming here and there carelessly, you will enjoy your trip. Enjoy your travels!

I generally book a guide for a day or two during the initial days of my visit. I would suggest you do the same to get the hang of the place.
