Team David Warner will face off the defending champions tonight in the final match of the season before playoffs.
SunRisers Hyderabad (5th)
Sunrisers Hyderabad will need nothing but a victory to put a claim in the top-four position. They have a strong net run-rate of +0.555, which gives them an edge.
If SRH lose to MI, KKR are through to the playoffs. If SRH defeat MI, then SRH will qualify on better NRR and Kolkata (NRR -0.214) will narrowly miss the playoffs.
Mumbai Indians (1st)
Mumbai Indians on the other hand have already secured a top spot and will certainly play Qualifier 1.
Sunrisers have a pretty good shot at playoffs tonight having won 3 of the last 5 matches. I also think they stand a better chance at advancing to Finals, if they win tonight.
Damp squib! Dull finish to an excitingly awaited contest!
So, KKR will have to go home it seems! Warner rises on the day, ably supported by Saha! SRH would regret keeping Saha out till date. He has seized the opportunity so far!
P. S. - SRH has previously entered Play-offs as 4th placed team and WON the title! So all beware!
P. P. S. - The will be 3rd this time though! So, Go RCB !
SRH have proved to be the dark horse who have shown this season how things can be turned around when all seems to be lost. Kudos to Warner, Saha and team for the amazing comeback!
I will not be surprised if they win the Champions trophy too!
Sunrisers Hyderabad etch a comprehensive 10-wicket over Mumbai Indians
Both Warner and Wriddhiman remained unbeaten on 85 (58) and 58 (45) respectively as they chased down the 150-run target in 17.1 overs. Earlier in the day, SRH won the toss and invited Mumbai to bat first. Their bowlers did a splendid job as they restricted Mumbai for a moderate 149/8 in 20 overs.
Wriddhiman Saha: 87,39,58*
David Warner: 66, 8, 85*
SRH have won 3 matches in a row with these two at the top of the order. They have a very good chance of beating RCB in the next elimination match on Friday and play the Finals.
