IPL 2020 likely to host overseas - UAE & Sri Lanka are front-runners

Several South African players like Imran Tahir, Tabraiz Shamsi, Rassie van der Dussen, Rilee Rossouw, Anrich Nortje and Colin Ingram, who are lined-up for the much-awaited Caribbean Premier League 2020 on Aug 18th (CPL 2020), are already barred from reaching the Caribbean as of now. If the trend continues, IPL franchises will find it difficult to get their replacements in time because of a similar situation in other countries as well.

The Indian Premier League Governing Council finalized that the tournament will start from September 19 and the final will be played on November 10. A total of 10 double-headers would be there in the 53-day tournament and at least till the midway point of the tournament, crowds will not be allowed. The matches will be played across Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

BCCI president Sourav Ganguly : Women’s IPL is “very much on”!

Women’s Indian Premier League was approved by Governing Council on Sunday.

“Women’s IPL will definitely happen and women’s cricket is as much a priority for the BCCI. We will add a team and make it with 4 teams," Ganguly .

4 teams will play a total of 7 matches.

"It will be played between 1-10 November. The idea is to have a full fledged tournament down the line once things improve. We will also do a camp for the women players and ensure they are properly prepared for the tournament,” Ganguly confirmed.

The Indian government has given permission to BCCI to host IPL 2020 in UAE ,it was confirmed by IPL Chairman Brijesh Patel.
