IPL 2020: CSK vs KKR - Preview, Head To Head, Prediction & Post Match Review

Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings will be targeting their third win in the Dream11 Indian Premier League 2020 as they square off at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

KKR started their campaign with a loss against Mumbai Indians (MI). But they bounced back in style, registering two successive wins, beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). While they lost their fourth game of the season against Delhi Capitals (DC), KKR will take confidence from the spirited performance of Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi as they take on CSK.

The MS Dhoni-led unit, on the other hand, will be seeking to continue their winning run. While CSK kicked-off their IPL 2020 season with a win over MI, they lost their next three games – RR, DC and SRH. However, CSK dished out a dominating show with the bat against KXIP, winning the game by 10 wickets to register their second win of the season.

CSK will be seeking their second successive win while KKR will want a winning return.

Head To Head

The two teams have faced each other 20 times in the IPL so far, with CSK holding a 13-7 head-to-head win/loss record over KKR.

It’s CSK Vs KKR. CSK is high on confidence. KKR are not so sure. The resurgent CSK Vs Inconsistent KKR would be the tagline of the match.

Regarding players, Naraine will be under scrutiny today. It could be do or die for him. Though KKR are backing him till now, that support can’t be taken for granted in future looking at his record so far. Many good things are expected fron Young Mavi too.

CSK would like Watto & Rayudu to fire. They have not many performance to show so far. Karn Sharma might also get a game today.

Here is my team for today!

KKR beat CSK by 10 runs!

Today’s match was very interesting. All players played their part and focused on victory. Both of the teams that played today were very balanced and played like each other. But, the only thing different between the 2 teams was that KKR did not lose their main run scorer in the early part of the innings. That is also why they won the game.

In the first innings, KKR started off with a splendid partnership between Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi. But, this was the only partnership that succeeded in scoring runs, all the other batsman got out quick. In CSK, no particular bowler played extraordinarily well. Each bowler played his part and saved runs as well as took wickets.

In the second innings, CSK did not have a good opening partnership but, their first wicket partnership of Ambati Raydu and Shane Watson gave them a chance of winning. After the second wicket dropped CSK’s batting line-up collapsed. Whereas, some of the bowlers on KKR’s side bowled very economically like Pat Cummins and some other bowlers got the wickets like Sunil Narine.

CSK and KKR did something that we rarely saw this IPL that is bowling really well in the death overs. KKR’s first wicket partnership secured the win for them. On the other hand, CSK were unable to recover runs after they lost Shane Watson which is why they lost.

Carelessness in few overs results in loss for CSK.

Kolkata Knight Riders (167) beat Chennai Super Kings (157/5 in 20 overs) by 10 runs.

Rahul Tripathi is the Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 81 off 51 deliveries.
