150 cyclists from 16 countries competed for top honours at the 6th edition of the Track Asia Cup, with qualification for the Cycling World Cup, World Championships & 2020 Olympics on line India stood way ahead in the medal tally compared to other Asian countries!
India topped the medal tally with 10 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze with a total of 25 medals at the Track Asia Cup cycling 2019. Ronaldo Laitonjam grabbed the limelight with his incredible performance by winning a gold in junior men’s Keirin event sprint, 1km time trial and team sprint junior events. Good to see Indian athletes proving their mark before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Stellar performances by junior cyclists team. The Indian team has collected crucial points during the competition to earn an opportunity to qualify for Olympics.
in the qualifying round of the men’s junior 200m event, Ronaldo set a Junior Asian Cycling record, clocking 10.065 sec beating the record previously held by China’s Liu Qi (10.149 seconds).

Esow Alben won a gold medal in the elite men’s sprint event.
Rojit Singh won silver.
Venkappa Shiv Kengalgutti secured gold in the junior men’s 3 km individual pursuit.
Elangbam Devi and Irungbam Devi gave a silver-bronze finish in the 3km pursuit race.
