India will be facing off against Bangladesh in match no. 17 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the MCA Stadium in Pune on Thursday, October 19, 2023.

India will look to bag their fourth win against Bangladesh. Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan will be leading his team against India. India have been the dominant team in the 40 ODI meetings with Bangladesh, having won 31 matches compared to Bangladesh’s nine wins. However, Bangladesh have inflicted a World Cup defeat on India when they won by five wickets to cause a major upset at the 2007 World Cup. They beat India in their last bilateral ODI series.

India go into the match as clear favourites, with three wins in the bag and the support of the home crowd. Bangladesh will look to repeat their heroics against India in the Asia Cup and their last ODI series, which they won 2-1 at home.

Bangladesh has played 3 matches so far with 1 win against Afghanistan and 2 loss against England and New Zealand.

Mushfiqur revealed he advised the bowlers to get rid of Virat Kohli as early as possible and not to sledge him during a game on the field

Veteran Bangladesh wicketkeeper batter Mushfiqur Rahim hailed India’s batting superstar Virat Kohli, saying he loves the rivalry with him but never sledges him as he gets pumped up after that. Kohli, widely regarded as one of the best batters of the modern era, has been scoring consistently well this year in ODIs and kickstarted the World Cup on high with a couple of half-centuries.

Another Virat Kohli :100: in a chase (in Pune once again), and India register their fourth W of the tournament :raised_hands:

India registered yet another dominant victory, against Bangladesh in Pine, to retain their 100% per cent at the ongoing World Cup and go top of the table. While the win was set up by disciplined bowling to restrict the Tigers to 256 and flamboyant knocks of 48 and 53 from Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill respectively, it was Virat Kohli who took all the plaudits in the end by registering a century. However, the manner in which the milestone came about was highly unusual and unlike the veteran’s claimed beliefs regarding how cricket must be played.
