  • Havertz is a complete central midfielder. This is a real coup for the West London club as they have landed a player coveted by every big club on the planet. He has been dubbed the best player in Bayer Leverkusen history and a hybrid of Mesut Özil and Michael Ballack.

  • His first real step towards superstardom came in the 2018-19 season where he bagged 17 goals in league play, leading Leverkusen to a top 4 finish. The 21-year-old, from 118 Bundesliga appearances has already amassed 36 goals and 25 assists.

  • One of Havertz’s biggest positives is his versatility. He has been deployed in different positions across his career and has done justice to each of them. A real joy to watch as his touch on the ball is so sensitive that he often sends opponents the wrong way, allowing him to slide past almost unchallenged. He often looks quicker with the ball at his feet than when running without it.

  • German talents are generally transferred to big clubs in Germany like Bayern and Dortmund, and Bayern had a deal to land him next transfer but he chose Chelsea over them.
