Man City defender Kyle Walker has been banned for three European matches after his Champions league red card in the group stage against RB Leipzig. The English right-back was sent off for an ugly foul on striker Andre Silva in 82nd minute. Because of this, Walker is out for both legs of City’s Champions League round of 16 matches against Sporting Lisbon.

“Kyle Walker is an important player for us and it is very unnecessary for us to lose him like this. I hope he learns from this.” Guardiola said immediately after the Leipzig game.
