Verstappen secured the victory in Brazil from P17 after five drivers retired from the Grand Prix
- Lance Stroll crashed out in the formation lap after his team, Aston Martin, carefully put his car back together following his crash in qualifying
- Lando Norris started on pole but George Russell got ahead of him quickly
- Max Verstappen had a great start and made his way up into the top ten after starting in P17 due to his five place grid penalty
- On lap 32 of the race, Franco Colapinto had a large crash at turns 12/13
- Lando Norris sounded clearly annoyed on the radio after the red flag was announced because it meant that all of his rivals would be able to switch to fresh tires
- Ollie Bearman had a major spin at Turn 7 but was able to recover his Haas and get back on track
- Carlos Sainz spun off the track and crashed into the barriers resulting in the safety car being deployed
- For the second rolling re-start of the race, Lando Norris went off at turn 1 which put him back in 7th position while Max Verstappen was able to get up into the lead
- Max Verstappen took the victory in Brazil ahead of both Alpines, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly
