Fate of Mobile Legends Bang Bang

The Government of India decided to disallow the usage of 59 Chinese apps to ensure the safety and sovereignty of Indian cyberspace. The official statement made by the Ministry of Electronics and IT stated that these apps were “engaged in activities which are prejudicial to the sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, the security of state and public order". The list included 2 names in the gaming category: Mobile Legends and Clash Of Kings.

Today, let us specifically discuss the fate of a 5vs5 MOBA game called Mobile Legends Bang Bang. The game has over 100 million downloads, with a rating of 4.2 stars on Google Play Store and over 75M active monthly users. Amid the growing Esports competency in MLBB, there exits a large ecosystem of content creators, professional players, organizations, talent agencies, and tournament organizers who are thriving to build business opportunities in India despite dealing with the effects of the ongoing global pandemic. This sudden decision of banning the game will certainly have repercussions. If you’re one among the enthusiast who wants the ban to be lifted, citing the professional opportunities it has, please voice out your opinion to build a community that can file a petition to revoke the ban.

Moonton the creators of Mobile Legends experienced explosive growth over the last year to power lifetime gross revenue past $502.5 million. A surprising fact that everyone should know is that Mobile Legends which was launched in 2016 is not available in China. Throughout its lifetime, Mobile Legends has accumulated 281.3 million downloads, with 212.1 million, or 75 percent, of those originating from Asia. According to me the ban should stand and we must support our government who have surveyed and listed the 59 apps which includes a threat to our privacy.

Before the ban, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) was picking up pace in the Indian market with local tournaments happening and a growing community. The ban will ripple India’s growing esports ecosystem and gaming will never be understood as mental skill that needs a lot of dedication and consistency.

If government considers a certain foreign enterprise as “Security Risk” why would one even think of challenging it?

There are enough games out there!

Ironically, one of the quotes from MLBB -

“Nothing lasts forever, we can change the future” - Alucard

Time to act upon this MLBB vouched quote! :slightly_smiling_face:

In short, Mobile Legends is wildly **popular because it meets lots of criteria for having a successful game. Basically they took an established genre (PC MOBAs) and transitioned it into mobile form. One of the best MOBAs available.
Due to ban , now a lot of developers have a chance to launch similar game which will easily pump out too many users.

There’s nothing like Mobile Legends. If you would have played this game those words wouldn’t have come from your end.
