England and love of chasing down big scores!

England has found a knack of scoring big runs and chasing down big targets in recent years.

Since 2015 WC, Eng has managed to chase down 340+ Successfully 4 times, While all Other teams managed it 3 Times in total.

They are on fire in 2019, They conceded 340+ 5 times this year and managed to chase it down every time. Oops!

So, what does this say about them? One interpretation can be that they are big scorers, another might cast a shadow on their bowing! Or is it just a result of quality of the pitches?

This also brings us to Pakistan, they have lost last 3 ODIs after scoring 340+ runs. In fact, Pakistan is the first team in ODI history to score 340+ or more in three consecutive innings. And managed to loose all 3. Eng equaled the feat in the same match Pak achieved it!

More than the quality of England’s batting, i think it comes down to the quality of pitches in England. There was a time when england had swing friendly pitches because England used to produce the best swing bowlers. However, in the past few years England is producing bowlers who are more suited to t20 brand of bowling. Recalling liam plunkett is also a reason which proves this point further.
Also England has a lot of power hitters in their side, add that to flat tracks and as a result we see England often reaching to big scores and chasing them down.

I do agree with Anubhav. England have flatten and removed swing friendly pitches.
Pakisthan team is not so dangerous as previously it was when Wasim Akram and Waqhar Younis use to play.

It will be very interesting to see how England performs against other reputed teams
