🤔 Do you think Mauricio Pochettino could be sacked soon?

Mauricio Pochettino is facing calls for dismissal from Chelsea fans after a 2-1 defeat to Wolves in the Premier League on Sunday. The ex-PSG coach is under scrutiny for a subpar performance at Molineux on Christmas Eve, adding to Chelsea’s season-long struggle for consistency, having won just six of their first 18 games despite significant summer investments in players.

Do you think Chelsea should sack Pochettino or give him more time?

What is happening at Chelsea right now is not exactly the manager’s fault. The players are yet to grow to the level we expected them to be. Let the team remain together till next season before we can conclude.

The players are young and inexperienced, no manager can perform magic with them presently. Chelsea needs to back pochettino and trust the process.

Pochettino hasn’t done great since his appointment as the Chelsea boss in my honest assessment. Players are not improving, there’s an obvious lack of discipline in the squad. Chelsea have accumulated the most bookings in the league this season. All these amongst so many other issues.

It is too early to call for his sack at the moment, but he must turn things around as quick as possible.

The team’s recent performances, including a 2-1 defeat to Wolves, have intensified the pressure on Pochettino. However, despite the criticism and concerns, the Chelsea board has expressed support for Pochettino, believing that he is the right person for the job and that it will take time to achieve the desired results.

Pochettino has acknowledged the “massive pressure” at Chelsea. The pressure on Pochettino at Chelsea stems from several factors:

  • Lack of finishing: Chelsea has struggled to score goals, particularly in their 2-1 defeat to Wolves. The team has squandered numerous big chances and Pochettino’s side has shown signs of vulnerability.

  • Player adaptation: Pochettino has been working with a young team and has defended his young players’ adaptation to pressure at Chelsea. He emphasized the need for the players to feel comfortable and confident, especially considering the high expectations at a club like Chelsea.

  • Transfer spending: Chelsea has invested over ÂŁ1 billion in new signings, but some of the players have not met expectations, leading to further pressure on Pochettino.

Despite the pressure, Pochettino has maintained a long-term perspective and belief in the team’s potential. He has expressed confidence in the team’s direction, stating that they are working towards achieving results, even if it takes time, and promised that Chelsea would compete for Champions League qualification in the future.

I think a “Wait and Watch” call would be justified at this moment to give Pochettino a reasonable period to work through his plan.

Mauricio Pochettino is facing challenges at Chelsea as the team currently sits 10th in the Premier League after winning only 8 of 20 matches. Concerns among fans regarding the club’s direction under Pochettino have emerged due to inconsistency, despite a significant summer spending spree exceeding £350 million. Reports suggest Roberto De Zerbi, Hansi Flick, and Jose Mourinho are among the top contenders to possibly replace Pochettino, although calls for his sacking are deemed premature.

Mourinho may soon exhaust all the red cards at Serie A and possibly consider returning back to PremierLeague, for his third successful stint at Chelsea.

Chelsea is reportedly considering multiple candidates for their next manager amid uncertainties about Mauricio Pochettino’s future.

Potential successors include Roberto De Zerbi, impressing as Brighton’s boss; Feyenoord’s Arne Slot, previously linked to Tottenham; Hansi Flick, recently relieved of his duties with the German national team; and slight outsiders Marcelo Gallardo and former Wolves boss Julen Lopetegui, who was seen observing a Chelsea match at Stamford Bridge.

The club, having parted ways with Graham Potter last season, faces decisions amid a challenging start to the season with only one Premier League win.

:rotating_light: Chelsea are concerned that sacking Mauricio Pochettino could put them in danger of breaching Premier League spending rules.

Ending Pochettino and his large backroom team’s time at the club would cost Chelsea in excess of £10M.
