Onana is a better fit for Ten hag’s tactical demands, that being someone who can play out from the back as comfortably as his central defenders. He has seemingly set his sights on Onana, currently at Inter Milan but previously of Ten Hag’s Ajax.
He is confident coming out of his box, calm in possession and - a forgotten strength of goalkeepers nowadays - good at keeping the ball out of the net. And the numbers behind his brilliant season at the San Siro back that up.
He will no doubt improve Manchester United massively.

I am a fan of Erik ten Hag’s managerial abilities. 
So, if ten Hag has chosen Onana then I trust it to be the best goalkeeper fit for Man United. 
Moreover, the stats seem to substantiate the pick too.
The 
Cameroonian goalkeeper has kept 104 clean sheets in 255 club appearances. 
He won three league titles and two KNVB Cups with Ajax before joining Inter in 2022. 
Last season, he won the Coppa Italia
