Nottingham Forest faces a Financial Fair Play charge this month due to their significant spending in the transfer market. The Premier League’s new system, addressing financial rule violations, has already led to Everton receiving a 10-point deduction this season. Forest, promoted to the Premier League in 2022, risks breaching profit and sustainability rules with their extensive spending. The fast-track system requires clubs to submit 2022/23 accounts by December 31, with any breaches announced by January 14. If found guilty, clubs have two weeks to address accusations before an independent panel hears the case by April 8, with appeals expected to conclude before the season’s end. Profit and sustainability rules permit teams to lose up to £105 million in a rolling three-year period or £35 million annually. Forest’s recent signings, especially in the last transfer window, contribute to their financial scrutiny.
