Van Dijk is adamant there is ‘NO point’ Liverpool fixating on chasing Man City
Virgil van Dijk insists Liverpool are paying no attention to Manchester City despite closing the gap on their Premier League title rivals.
A hard-fought 3-1 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday lifted the Reds to within nine points of Pep Guardiola’s side, who were held to a 1-1 draw away to Southampton on Saturday.
City have played a game more than Liverpool and the Merseyside outfit are set to visit the Etihad Stadium in April, leaving plenty to play for.
‘You can’t deny it’s in your mind, but as we have said many times we take it game by game,’ Van Dijk said when quizzed on the title.
'It sounds a bit boring, but it is like that. We are not looking at them because there is no point.

Gary Neville says Marcus Rashford’s goal against West Ham brought him ‘joy’
Gary Neville believes that Marcus Rashford has rediscovered his passion at Manchester United, after the forward scored for the second successive game in the last-gasp victory against West Ham at the weekend.
Rashford netted a stoppage-time winner at Old Trafford to seal the three points for Ralf Rangnick’s side, having arrived at the far post with the last kick of the game to tuck home Edinson Cavani’s low cross.
The effort came days after he also added to his tally at Brentford, and pundit Neville is now keen to see him kick on, with the striker having been forced to battle against claims that off-field matters were affecting his performances.
‘The thing for me about Marcus Rashford, when I saw him celebrate that goal, it brought joy to him,’ he said on his Sky Sports podcast.
