Back in the days when coaching was not the norm, Nandu Natekar, was among the pioneer generation of badminton players in India. “I was never coached. I learned watching others playing."

Natekar has won over 100 national and international titles for India in a career spanning 15 years from 1951 to 1965. Natekar was the first Indian badminton player to to get an international medal in 1956 and made his way to the quarterfinals of the All England.
