Arsenal vs Fulham

Arsenal will be looking to make it three wins on the bounce when they face off against relegation battlers Fulham in Matchweek 32 of the 2020/21 Premier League at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

After a run of poor results, Arsenal have managed to bounce back in style in the last two games, first beating Sheffield United 3-0 in the Premier League before trouncing Slavia Prague 4-0 in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday to book a place in the semi-finals of the competition.

Fulham are still trying to rally, even though relegation is starting to loom large. The Cottagers have lost their last four games in a row, most recently getting beaten 1-0 by Wolves, which has left them seven points shy of Burnley in 17th place, who also happen to have a game in hand. A win here is very much the need of the hour for Scott Parker & co. if they want to keep their slim survival hopes alive.

Manchester United vs Burnley

Manchester United have continued to make definitive progress under the tutelage of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is set to oversee a runner-up finish in the Premier League at the very least. However, with Manchester City slipping up against Leeds United last weekend, a glimmer of hope has presented itself to the Red Devils, who come into this game on the back of a 2-0 win over Granada.

Burnley, on the other hand, have endured a difficult 2020/21 campaign, which has seen them flirt with relegation right from their opening game of the season. Heading into this weekend, the Clarets were 16th on the Premier League table, but have fallen down to 17th following Newcastle United’s crucial win over West Ham United on Saturday. Sean Dyche & co. are likely to remain safe, with 18th-placed Fulham seven points behind.

The reverse fixture, played at Turf Moor back in January, saw Manchester United eke out a narrow 1-0 win over Burnley, courtesy Paul Pogba’s 71st minute strike.

Key Stats

  • Burnley are unbeaten in their last four away games in the Premier League against Manchester United (W1 D3). The only team to avoid defeat in five consecutive Premier League visits to Old Trafford is Chelsea, who did so in six fixtures in a row between 1994 and 1998. The Clarets can also set a new Premier League club record of five away games unbeaten against a single opponent.

  • Manchester United were beaten in three of their opening six Premier League matches this season, but have lost only one of their subsequent 25 top-flight games.

  • Burnley have only managed two wins in their last 12 Premier League matches. The Clarets have failed to score in the second half of any of their last seven league fixtures.

  • Manchester United have come from behind to win nine league matches in 2020/21, just one behind Newcastle United’s Premier League record of 10 in a season set in 2001/02.

  • Manchester United’s four Premier League defeats this season have all come at Old Trafford. They’ve only twice lost more often at home in a Premier League season: 2013/14 (seven defeats) and 2001/02 (six).
