↔ January transfer window 2022- When does it open? Who could be on the move?

There’s no doubt that the summer transfer window had arguably been one of the most memorable windows in recent years, with Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo sealing moves, whilst Jack Grealish becoming the Premier League’s record signing when he joined Manchester City, Romelu Lukaku’s £97.5m switch to Chelsea and Manchester United’s pursuit of Jadon Sancho.

All eyes now set on when the January market opens. The deals that did not happen in the summer transfer window could be revisited in January.

When does the January transfer window open?

:calendar: Premier League transfer deadline

The transfer market will reopen on Saturday, Jan. 1 and close at 11 p.m. GMT / 6 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 31.

The deadline is the same for Championship clubs, should they be looking to bring players in on loan from the Premier League.

:calendar: La Liga transfer deadline

In Spain, the transfer market will swing back into action on Monday, Jan. 3.

The window will close at midnight local time (11 p.m. GMT / 6 p.m. ET) on Monday, Jan. 31.

:calendar: Serie A transfer deadline

Serie A clubs will be able to start making transfers as of Monday, Jan. 3.

The January window will close at 7 p.m. GMT / 2 p.m. ET on Jan. 31.

:calendar: Bundesliga transfer deadline

German clubs have set their transfer window at 5 p.m. GMT / midday ET on Monday, Jan. 31.

The window opens on Jan .1.

:calendar: Ligue 1 transfer deadline

Ligue 1 will close its window on Monday, Jan. 31 at 11 p.m. GMT / 6 p.m. ET.

Clubs can start doing business on Jan. 1.

A few top leagues will still be able to buy players after Jan. 31. The deadlines are:

Feb. 1: Mexico
Feb. 2: Portugal
Feb. 8: Turkey

Newcastle’s purchase by the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund has led to many rumours. They hope to make a lot of transfers in January. One of the names on the table is Philippe Coutinho, a player liked at Barcelona who would be willing to negotiate an exit. Barcelona do know that he has been in contact with the Saudis last summer but nothing was sealed.
