3 key individual performances against SRH!
KKR havenât had a good IPL campaign for a couple of years now. In both 2019 and 2020, they failed to make it to the playoffs. But things are expected to be different this time, with the ICC Cricket World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan leading the team from the very beginning.
The Knight Riders have made some clever additions to their team, which includes the Bangladeshi all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan. They will start their campaign with a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, who made the playoffs last season but couldnât make it to the finals. Hyderabadâs team was already a pretty solid unit, so whatever additions they have made at the auction table are simply to add to their depth, and not replace any first-team player.
Bhuvi danger for KKR â No one has picked more wickets against KKR in the IPL than Bhuvneshwar Kumar (27)
Dismal record at Chepauk for both teams
Both Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad have a bad record at Chepauk. KKR have lost seven of their nine games at this venue. Whereas, SRH have lost all three games they have played here.
Most runs against KKR:
Rohit Sharma - 939
David Warner - 912
Suresh Raina - 818
SRH skipper David Warner needs 88 more against KKR to become the first batsman to score 1000 runs against an IPL opponent.
Interesting fact
The last time SRH faced KKR, the contest ended in a Super Over-thriller with KKR coming out triumphant.
Can we expect a similar result tonight?
60 meters and 70 meters are the square boundaries, so the spinners might struggle here.
Itâll be interesting what the captains will be interested in after winning the toss - they wanted to bat last in the previous game.

Weâre bowling first. This wicket will play a little different, itâs a lot drier. There wasnât much dew in the last training session, and so that wonât make much of a difference. We know what we can chase to be honest, and we prefer doing that. Our foreign players are myself, Rashid Khan, Nabi and Jonny Bairstow.
I havenât looked at the coach dynamic, but they have been magnificent in the background. We missed out narrowly last year with qualifying so we will try and go one better this time. Our four foreign players are Russell, Shakib, Cummins and myself.
