Spanish media COPE’s journalist Miguel Angel Diaz confirms on Twitter that Vinicius is no longer tested positive for COVID-19.
Vinicius has tested negative and is awaiting confirmation in the LFP test to be able to return to training. The normal thing is that he does not travel to Alcoy. Jović continues to test positive. Bale is expected for Valencia & Carvajal for the Super Cup.
Over the years, penalty-kick takers have come up with many tactics to confuse the opposition goalkeepers. This trend is not just restricted to lower levels of football but even in the top leagues and on the international stage.
Italian star Jorginho has a unique style of jumping and looking to see where the goalkeeper is moving just before he strikes the ball. Whereas, Manchester United star Paul Pogba too has an unusual run-up, he takes small steps as to test the patience of the goalkeeper.
In the All Japan High School tournament a player from one of the team decided to make a mix of both the above techniques to create a unique one
Why do Barcelona and Xavi want to sign Alvaro Morata?
A recent social media poll asking Barcelona fans who they would rather be the club’s number nine: Alvaro Morata or Luuk de Jong was mainly answered with the word ‘neither’.
But despite the lack of enthusiasm for his arrival, such are Barcelona’s current financial restrictions, that Xavi is keen on adding the Spain international to his attacking options.
Juventus might not want to keep Morata, and Atletico Madrid might not want to take him back but the striker, who also came up short at Chelsea and Real Madrid, looks like moving to the Camp Nou.
Edinson Cavani has so much still to offer Man United and Ralf Rangnik
Edinson Cavani revealed last year that his archer goal celebration is both a reference to his daughter India and the indigenous Charrúas people of his native Uruguay.
It might as well be Cupid’s bow and arrow, too, given how Manchester United’s fans have taken the veteran striker to their hearts since he joined last year.
When Cavani was linked with a move away last summer, after just one season, there was a whole charm offensive to persuade him to stay at Old Trafford.
A member of the United kit staff would follow him around singing, to the tune of ABBA’s Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight), the chant fans had come up with in tribute: ‘Give it, give it, give it, to Edi Cavani/Pass him the ball and watch him score all the goals.’
Chelsea’s Edouard Mendy will go head-to-head with Gianluigi Donnarumma and Manuel Neuer later this month in a bid to be named FIFA’s Best Men’s Goalkeeper for 2021.
The trio are all up for the top keeper award at The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021, with Bayern Munich keeper Neuer looking to retain the title he claimed in 2020.
Mendy and Donnarumma have both never been shortlisted for the award, but the Chelsea and PSG goalkeepers respectively both enjoyed brilliant years in 2021.
Blues stopper Mendy won the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup, while finishing runner-up in the FA Cup as well.
Donnarumma, meanwhile, moved to Paris Saint-Germain from AC Milan and had an incredible summer with Italy at the Euros, beating England to lift the trophy at Wembley.
The nominations for the women’s award have also been revealed ahead of the virtual ceremony in Zurich on January 17, with Chelsea’s Ann-Katrin Berger hoping to make it a double for the Stamford Bridge outfit
Everton appoint Sharp, who won two league titles, as non-executive director
Everton have appointed former striker Graeme Sharp as a non-executive director to help advise on football-related matters.
The 61-year-old will retain his position as the club’s players’ life president but will relinquish all other club duties to focus on his role on the board.
Everton are currently undertaking a strategic review of football operations at the club after the departure of director of football Marcel Brands a month ago, following on from the appointment of Rafael Benitez last summer.
“The test carried out by Leo Messi was negative for Covid-19. He has arrived in Paris and he will resume with the group in the coming days,” PSG said in a statement.
