For a long time it was believed Timo was going to Liverpool. He had on record went to say that he will wait for a year rather than going anywhere else. It was a big snub to ManU, Chelsea who were also interested in signing him.
After all the drama, The news is Chelsea have finally made a deal with Leipzig for Timo. Liverpool is understood to have backed out due to financial reasons. There would be no major signings in the coming window for Reds.
Timo Werner has been offered a five year deal by Chelsea worth £200,000-a-week ahead of £50m move from Red Bull Leipzig (release clause which expires on June 15.

Frank Lampard and Petr Cech made an undercover pre-lockdown trip to Germany that helped Chelsea leapfrog Liverpool and Manchester United to convince Timo Werner to move to Stamford Bridge.
Telegraph Sport reveal that the pair gave Chelsea’s bid to sign the forward the personal touch, as they laid out their plans for how Werner will fit into Lampard’s vision for the team.
It is understood that the visit from Lampard and Cech hugely impressed Werner, his family and his representatives. The feeling was mutual, as Lampard and Cech were encouraged by Werner’s driven but humble character, and the trio have since remained in contact. End result is now for all of us to see.
