FIFA World XI- Are you happy with the choice?

Fifpro announced during yesterday’s FIFA The Best Awards the list of World Xl for the 2018/19 season.

Alisson Becker (BRA) - Liverpool
Matthijs de Ligt (NED) - Ajax / Juventus
Sergio Ramos (ESP) - Real Madrid
Virgil van Dijk (NED) - Liverpool
Marcelo (BRA) - Real Madrid
Luka Modric (CRO) - Real Madrid
Frenkie de Jong (NED) - Ajax/Barcelona
Eden Hazard (BEL) - Chelsea/ Real Madrid
Cristiano Ronaldo (POR) - Juventus
Kylian Mbappe (FRA) - Paris Saint-Germain
Lionel Messi (ARG) - Barcelona

The jury members and international footballers decide the winners. Although Liverpool won the Champions League and Real Madrid claimed zero trophies, they dominated the World Xl with 4 of their players. Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Luka Modric all made the list and i really have no idea on what basis.

Robertson and Alexander-Arnold are the best full-backs right now in the world and they were the ones who turned the match around against Barcelona. In fact the entire season they were the best in their respective positions.

Going by the stats too, Ramos made 42 apps and Marcelo made 34 apps in all competitions. Real Madrid conceded 71 goals in all competitions. Marcelo was not even the preferred full back and he shared the spot with Reguilón. Ramos picked up 12 yellow cards and 1 red card. Eden Hazard is clearly not a midfielder. Man City who won the PL have no players in the World Xl. Kante should have also made the list.

Do you agree with the line-up? Or you think the choice needs change? Comment your opinion.

if Messi wins a million times awards it doesn’t change the fact that Messi IS ONLY A BARCA SYSTEM PLAYER Winner compared to Ronaldo’s WIN in “multiple leagues”. Whatever you Messi fans say or do it’s STILL FACTS. Can’t change it

Somewhat surprisingly, UEFA Champions League winners Liverpool have just two players in the selection after lifting their sixth European Cup in Istanbul, Turkey, namely Alisson Becker and Virgil van Dijk.

Real Madrid, meanwhile, have four players in the team despite not winning any trophy in 2018/19. As the likes of Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Luka Modric and Eden Hazard all made the selection again.

Players like Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane along with Liverpool teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson can feel hard done by after being ommited despite their superb 2018/19, which climaxed in lifting the UEFA Champions League. While Bernardo Silva also missed out despite Man City and Portugal’s success.

Not surprised to see the usual suspects - Messi, Ronaldo and Ramos. But I would pick Liverpool right back Trent Alexander-Arnold to replace Ramos. Though Chelsea side is struggling, Kante is still shining and I would pick him anytime to replace De Jong. Luka Modric is one of the best midfielders but I would pick Kevin De Bruyne who is the best midfielder and is so pivotal to both Belgium and Manchester City that they look lost when he’s not dictating play from the middle.

Others who missed the bus are Mo Salah, Raheem Sterling and Sadio Mane. But that’s a tough call against the legends for the forwards spot.
